Pittsburgh’s Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade– Will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 12, 2022.
We will be marching as a unit and will be wearing Irish Aran sweaters that can be purchased from the Irish Design Store, located at 303 S. Craig St, Pittsburgh, PA 15213 (see hours of operation below) or check several places online. If you feel you have a sweater that is a good match, please feel free to wear it. We compliment this look with black pants, black shoes/boots, and an Irish sash. If you want to wear a cap, hat, or gloves, please try to wear items that work with our simple choices. We are trying to lock down where to procure sashes. If members who are not marching could lend us their sashes for the parade, we will make sure they are returned. Remember no adornments should be on your sashes except for officer pins. We are not the fashion police, express yourselves but try to stay in uniform!!

An explanation of was given regarding the fundraiser “The Queen of Hearts”, 4 tickets for $5.00, you can only buy tickets for yourself, you pick a number on the board, you put your name and number on your tickets, if the number drawn is not a number that was selected, the pot keeps increasing. Friday night it was up to $7,000. Each week the board is cleared.
Kathleen mentioned the zoom link for our LAOH National board. There was to be a live presentation on Saturday, but the meeting notes did not go out and the most current post I see is for Bloody Sunday, so I have added that. There are some other remarkable offerings if you want to review the listings.
The Officer Elections were conducted, and the results are as follows by Office:
|Mistress at Arms||Germaine D’Amico|
|Catholic Action||Colleen DeFilippo|
|Missions and Charities||Fran Pischke|
|Irish Historian||Patty Chavez|
|Financial Secretary||Kathleen Diulus|
|Recording Secretary||Carmella Law|
|Vice President||Gina Byrnes|
The following appointees were made:
|Freedom For All Ireland||Alisa Cromie|
|Immigration and Legislation||Sue Bryan|
We would like to thank the board members who have served in the past. It is necessary to take a moment to acknowledge their support and service. Our division succeeds for many reasons and on the shoulders of those before us is one of the main factors. Thank you, Ladies!!
We want to welcome the new board members. We feel there is a good mix of vitality that will keep our division moving in the right direction. With more and more Covid restrictions lifting, we can plan fundraisers, charitable functions, and fun activities. We hope there is a board member you feel you can reach out to, or as always call Donna.
