The 2025-2026 LAOH Irish History Contest is now CLOSED.

Thank you to all those that submitted essays for consideration and thank you to all members/officers who promoted participation in the contest. All essays are currently in the judging phase of the process. 

There were 20 essays for Level 1 (Grades 6, 7, & 8).

There were 18 essays for Level 2 (Grades 9, 10, 11, & 12).

Details, including the topic, for the 2026-2027 LAOH Irish History Contest will be posted at the beginning of April with a revised submission timeline. Please check back to celebrate the 2026 Winners and to learn how you can be a part of the 2027 contest!
